By the end of the day, student enable to:

1      State the standards of length as a basis for all measurement

2      Identify the aims of the Standards Room, and state the requirements of the Standards Room in relation to temperature and atmosphere control

3      Explain the following types of measurement; i. linear; ii. ­angular; iii. ­non-linear

4      Carry out  the basic measurements

By the end of the day, student enable to:

1      Identify the function of datum lines and centre lines

2      State the two common principles of marking out

3      Establish the vertical and horizontal planes by using the spirit level
